Push a solid colored background to a Windows Server 2012 or later

So I had a customer that requested that I changed the background color for all users of a RDS solution. Well that seems easy, lets start by right clicking the desktop and selecting personialize, woho. It isn’t there, by default Windows Server does not include Desktop Experience. So lets install it, just for fun. Its not needed really.

In which order do you enable RDP and Firewall openings?

Yesterday I noticed something.

The number of rules concerning RDP in the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security mmc differs. If you enable RDP before enabling the firewall rules, you will get two set rules per type, one for Public profile and one for Private/Domain profile. But If you enable the RDP rules when they say All and then enable RDP they one rule. Pictures inside blog.
